Culture and society
The mission of the France-Danemark Association created in 1983 is to promote cultural and social awareness of Denmark among the French population.
As Andersen, Karen Blixen, Niels Bohr or Carl Dreyer, but also Lego, Lars Von Trier, Arne Jacobsen and la Grande Arche reveal, Danish and French cultures are more intertwined than one would believe. One of the goals of our public outreach is to help the audience discover or re-discover the many aspects of our culture, which is woven from these two threads.
And from them come many rich tapestries, from music to sport, pedagogy to cinema, through literature, design, journalism and gastronomy…Since culture is something we taste and listen to, something we practice and do, something we take part in and share,we should not miss out on these opportunities to share and meet other people. This diversity nurtures our capacity to reflect (in both senses of the word), and this is what our association aims to achieve.
