Carl Nielsen Festival, three exceptional concerts

From a large and very poor family, Carl Nielsen left home at the age of fourteen to join the military band cornet Odense, where he stayed four years before entering the Conservatory of Copenhagen.His six symphonies, three concertos and two operas hold a unique place in the history of Danish music. In his native country, Nielsen is also knowned as the author of My Childhood on Funen, a collection of memories that became a classic of Danish literature. His songs are also known and loved all throughout Denmark.
