A 20th century Danish-French friendship

Nothing indicated that the French artist Pierre Wemaëre (1913-2010), born in Comines in the North, and the Danish artist Asger Jorn (1914-1973) would ever meet. But their encounter in the studio of Fernand Léger in Paris in 1936, sealed a lasting friendship, which bore many artistic fruits. The exhibition shows the extraordinarily positive emulation and reciprocal influence of these two painters on one another.
